Soreng, Feb 6: In a significant move to enhance road safety, the Motor Vehicle Division Soreng organized an extensive awareness program at Chakung Senior Secondary School and the Soreng B Ed College as part of the National Road Safety Month-2024. The initiative, led by Mr. Upendra Rai, ARTO (Soreng), aimed to educate young minds and faculty members about the crucial aspects of road safety and responsible vehicle management.
The event was marked by detailed presentations on various facets of the Central Motor Vehicle Act. Mr. Rai meticulously outlined the guidelines for road safety, vehicle standards, and the penalties imposed for traffic violations. His discourse provided invaluable insights into the legal framework governing vehicle use, highlighting the importance of adherence to these laws for personal and communal safety.
Adding to the depth of the session, Mr. Bikash Subba (MVI) and Mr. Basant Kumar Chettri (AMVI) elucidated the procedures and criteria for obtaining a driving license and the vehicle registration process. This segment of the program was particularly enlightening, shedding light on the administrative processes that often seem daunting to many.
A crucial aspect of the program was the emphasis on practical road safety measures. Attendees were educated on the essential ‘do’s and don’ts’ in the event of road accidents, a segment that resonated well with the audience, comprised largely of students and faculty members. These practical tips are seen as a vital step in preparing individuals to respond effectively in emergency situations, potentially saving lives and minimizing injuries.
The session culminated with an interactive segment where participants engaged in a question-and-answer round, getting their doubts clarified. This interactive approach not only made the session more engaging but also ensured that the information imparted was well comprehended and internalized by the attendees.
Today’s event at Soreng is a reflection of the ongoing efforts by the Motor Vehicle Division to promote road safety and responsible driving. Such initiatives are crucial in building a safer and more aware society, where each individual is empowered with the knowledge and understanding to make our roads safer.
